Hello! My name is Ananda. With a birth name that carries a deep meaning, I feel that yoga, particularly Ashtanga Yoga, has always been a part of my life. My mum used to chant passages from the Bhagavad Gita as lullabies, and I grew up gazing at an image of Krishna. Like many yoga practitioners, my journey includes the principles of Patanjali’s Ashtanga Yoga (Eight Limbs Yoga). Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is my preferred asana practice, and it’s how I first connected with yoga. I fell in love with it instantly—not just because of the asanas, but due to the profound effect it had on my mind. I was hooked! As a friend once told me, “once you find your therapy, stick to it.” In my quest to understand the workings of the body and mind, I have thoroughly studied human anatomy, physiology, neurobiology, and neuropsychiatry, and I continue to learn. Can you ever know enough? This passion naturally led me to study massage, with a particular focus on Thai massage. I have been blessed with incredible teachers along my path—some have been the mentors I sought, while others were the teachers I truly needed. I love to share my knowledge and experience with anyone eager to learn. If you’re looking for yoga classes in Guildford, discover more about Ananda HERE.

I have studied Ashtanga Yoga in India since 2012 and in Mysore since 2014. Although I have practiced yoga for over 20 years, my devotion to Ashtanga Yoga has been strong for the last 10 years. I love sharing the teachings of yoga through my Yoga Classes to help ease the stress of modern living and assist students in developing a healthy mind, balanced emotions, and a healthy body. Ashtanga Yoga is where my passion lies, and I continue to travel back to India to study with my teacher, Sharathji Jois. As a dedicated student, I only share what I have learned from my teachers. I specialize in beginner, mum & baby, and pregnancy yoga classes in Guildford, and I am also qualified in Hawaiian deep tissue massage. Find out more about Lisa HERE.
